New Production For 2012   The Bourn Players committee are delighted to announce that our 2012 production will be Annie, the Broadway musical based upon the popular Harold Gray comic strip Little Orphan Annie, with music by Charles Strouse, lyrics by Martin Charnin, and the book by Thomas Meehan.   The show will be performed at Comberton Village on March 22 until 24th inclusive. Chairman’s Introduction

Welcome to the Bourn Players website, we hope that you find it informative and fun. The aim is to show you what we have done in the past and then to whet your appetite for future productions - you may want to come and join in as a member of the cast or just enjoy coming to watch the show. Either way we think you will enjoy yourself!!

Bourn Players started life in 1994 as a group of friends who wanted to entertain the local community and involve children in the Bourn Primary School in music and acting. There has been a show in one form or another every year since - music means singing and dance and this is where we have concentrated our efforts. Until 2005 we performed in the School but a combination of circumstances made us spread our wings and this year we played at CB3 in Comberton. This was a great success in many ways and the larger venue meant that we were able to raise £2000 for the Marie Curie charity as well as entertain over 870 people.

We always aim to put on the best possible show but also don’t want to take ourselves too seriously - the aim is to have fun and involve as many of our local community as possible. So far we hope that we have managed to do just that. Every year we find new people who want to join in at all sorts of levels. You might not even want to tread the boards - there are lots of other things from make-up to set design to advertising to scene shifting and more, going on behind the scenes that require time and effort and without which the show would not happen. So if you want to join in, have fun, entertain people and help young people get their first taste of song, dance and acting then contact us and join in!
